It’s been almost two long months ever since the enhanced quarantine was implemented. Since then, our hearts and minds have never been quite at ease, and we can’t help but worry for the ones who are the most restless of all—frontliners who have been fighting to control the spread of the virus.

As a way to boost their morale, comedians from different networks gave honor to our new heroes through their fun videos. They want to let them know they are not alone in this battle and that their efforts are much appreciated.

Aside from their humor, these comedians also pitched in efforts to help our frontliners in terms of food and necessities.

Scroll down to know how our comedians pulled #COVIDyante off:

Spearheaded by Ogie Acasid, Herbert Bautista, Janno Gibbs, Dennis Padilla and Gene Padilla, a group is formed in order to extend help to our kababayans who are in need.

Janno Gibbs posted a photo on his Instagram account with a caption:

“Covidyante viber group happening now. Ang kuleeeet!!!?????? @herbertbautista @ogiealcasid @vhongx44 @msaiaidelasalas @iambayaniagbayani Just some of the many Covidians on the thread. Cooking up something for a good cause????#punchlinersforfrontliners”

Assigning tasks

For smooth-sailing planning and execution, the comedians decided to divide the tasks. Janno Gibbs and Jerald Napoles are the ones assigned to manage their social media account. According to them, it is where they will post photos, and showcase transparency with their donation updates.

When it comes to baking, Ai-Ai de las Alas is in charge of the sets of bread that will be given to different sectors.

And being the comedians that they are, they added a little something to spice it all up! Our Kapamilya star Vhong Navarro suggested a challenge to support the frontliners.

Aside from extending help through face shields and food, the group also decided to spread laughter and words of encouragement on social media through the #COVIDyantechallenge.

In this challenge, they are asked to say something about frontliners to boost their morale.

Mayor Bautista started the said challenge. He posted the video on his Instagram account with a caption:

“Glad to be part of the #CovidYante group! Muli, isang pasasalamat sa lahat ng mga Frontliners! Stay home, safe and healthy!”

He then passed the challenge to Kim Molina who gladly took it. She posted a video on her Instagram account thanking frontliners for their unending efforts.

Her caption says, “COVIDyanteChallenge Accepted! Thank you Kuya @herbertbautista! Tuloy tuloy na suporta at pasasalamat sa ating mga Frontliners! I now challenge my mama @candypangilinan to pass the #Covidyante good vibes support! ?? #PunchlinersForFrontliners”

We can’t wait to witness more comedians take part in this challenge!

Distributing goods

They made it happen! After gathering some donations, they were able to give face shields for our frontliners, who are at high risk of contracting the virus.

And this is just the beginning for our #COVIDyantes. As of now, they’re still trying to raise more funds so they can help more of those who are in need.
