Back in March 2004, ABS-CBN launched its own reality-TV talent competition, Star Circle Quest (SCQ), and it was hosted by Jodi Sta. Maria and Luis Manzano.

The jury, on the other hand, was composed of Boy Abunda (TV host and talent manager), Laurenti Dyogi (TV executive and director), and Gloria Diaz (Miss Universe 1969-turned-actress). They decided the fate of the show’s contestants called Questors with either of these two verdicts: “You are in” or “You are out.”

After several rounds of auditions that tested the talents and personalities of the Questors, the cream of the crop moved on to the next phase as the Magic Circle of 10.

They underwent more tests until they reached the “Grand Questor’s Night,” in which the Top 5 Questors were revealed and the Grand Questor emerged at the competition’s end in June 2004.

SCQ opened doors for its Questors to start a career in showbiz. Some stayed, while the others found success in other fields.
