A production staff or crew is a group of professionals that play vital roles in mounting a certain event or show.

In these trying times where people stay home, digital concerts or shows are held to keep up with the changes, raise funds, and entertain viewers. Homes of the artists are then turned into an instant studio or stage.

And since there's no one else to support the star—typically the production team—the artist himself or herself, or a happy-to-serve family member, acts the part.

It is not easy to turn concepts into an actual production, but your favorite artists are trying to be resourceful and creative, keeping you entertained amid the pandemic.  Find out which of these big-named stars instantly became a full-fledged production team!

Ogie Alcasid

During the digital concert of Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez titled One Night with Regine, Ogie Alcasid ensured that all technical aspects of the show were under control.

This was revealed at their joint guesting when his wife Regine thanked him on the fourth episode of Voice Pilipinas on April 26. “Gusto ko lang i-flex 'yung asawa ko. Akala nila dahil ako lang 'yung nakikita nila sa Facebook, akala nila ako lang 'yun, pero actually siya lahat 'yung gumawa. Siyempre, may kasama kaming production team pero wala sila dito sa bahay. He’s the only one with me doing all the technical things to make the show run smoothly,” Regine said.

She added that Ogie did not only operate the equipment, but he also kept track of how much the show has earned, to help Bantay Bata’s projects.

Ogie then reassured Regine that he would still be willing to do it again. “Siyempre there’s enough stress already when you perform right? Wala na ngang tao dito, kami-kami na lang. We will do it for our wives,” Ogie said.

Zsa Zsa Padilla

Divine Diva Zsa Zsa Padilla also had her fair share of being an all-around production crew. As an artist who is used to having producers and technicians, recording her own performance for ASAP NATIN ’TO challenged her.

On Instagram, Zsa Zsa expressed her appreciation for the people in the actual recording studio: "Hello! Long time no post! At mukhang tao ulit ako today bilang taping day namin for ASAP NATIN ‘TO. Sobra kong na appreciate ang mga technician sa recording studio kasi literal na pinagpawisan ako kagabi sa pagaaral kung paano makapag record. Nahuli na ako sa mga kasamahan ko!!! Last week na realize ko na ako na Lang ang tunug “bahay” hahaha!”

Zsa Zsa also shared how she was able to pull off the recording. “Kaya buong lakas loob akong nagpaturo sa mga sumusunod: Teacher Annie of Company, Erik Santos at ang aming musical director na si Homer Flores. Pag di ko pa din maintindihan, consult naman ako sa YouTube. Ayun, sa wakas nakapag record na din ako,” she wrote in her Instagram post.

Zsa Zsa emphasized that she also misses other teams she worked with. “So ganun na nga, twing taping day namin, lahat kami balik sa simpleng pamumuhay. Walang style team!!! Although miss ko na silang lahat, guys!!! Huhuhu Ako na mismo make up artist, hairstylist, stylist, lights man, sound engineer, PA, camera woman, director. Halos lahat ng sulok ng bahay ay nabuhayan at nailawan ko na!!! ?? hahaha! May natitira pang ilang sulok, wag kayong magalala. #asapnatinto #home #workfromhome Thanks to @ogiealcasid for my recording equipment!!!."

In preparation for the Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s digital concert Sharon: Love and Music, Kakie Pangilinan willingly took on the role of being her mother’s production crew.

Aside from her mother, Kakie is the only member of the family who is involved with music production, which automatically qualifies her to do the job. On her Twitter account, she posted how she normally looked during rehearsals. “I’m pretty much the only crew for Shawie’s online concert this weekend and we needed to test the shot so now the live rehearsal feed is just me eating chicken nuggets for like 20 minutes while sad music plays in the background,” Kakie wrote.

The Megastar’s daughter would also sometimes update her followers about their rehearsals. She once tweeted that they were playing the song Langis at Tubig.

In Kakie’s latest Twitter video, her father Kiko Pangilinan was caught sneaking around to capture a video of Sharon’s rehearsal. So cute!

Fans know that the Umagang Kay Ganda host Marlo Mortel has been into music since day one, making him join The X Factor Philippines in 2012 and Tawag Ng Tanghalan in 2019.

Kiana also shared on Instagram the time she recorded her own voice since she could not play any instruments. “I can’t play any instruments (I really tried) so I used my voice. I miss the studio and I miss my friends, but I gotta stay creative somehow. Gimme something to believe in,” she penned.
