1. Gab Lagman

Gabriel Paulo Dino Lagman has not spent more than two years in showbiz, but many fans were gained by the newbie actor of the hit teleserye Halik. As a teenager, Gab’s goals were not targeted to becoming an actor, but being a professional basketball player. It’s even more surprising that he was a nursing student before he left Las Vegas to start a career in the Philippines.

In his interview with Tonight with Boy Abunda, Gab proved his irresistible charm when he shared that he became the top salesman of a famous shoe brand outlet. He was a working student that time, and Filipinos would actually take pictures with him. He graduated from the College of Southern Nevada.

Gab first captured our hearts in La Luna Sangre and Wildflower. He then appeared in movies including Never Not Love you, Sid & Aya, and Hanggang Kailan. The budding actor also does modelling, and was mentioned in TWBA as one of the best “walkers” in the country. Sounds like a bright future!


2. Jane De Leon

There must be something in the tantalizing eyes of young actress Jane Florence Benitez De Leon that screams X-factor. If she weren’t in showbiz, the young Star Magic artist would be fulfilling her dream of becoming either a doctor, or a soldier. We have been eyeing on her acting talent since La Luna Sangre and several MMK episodes.

Jane’s personality can be quirky—and fascinating.  In her Youtube vlog, the actress shared that she would only normally drink a soda or a frappe if she gets to drink it with two straws. She also revealed that instead of getting scared by horror movies, tears run down her face because of the touching plot. These tiny details bring out her easy vibe off-cam.

Jane has definitely shown versatility in acting as she has done action, drama and crime. The Ipaglaban Mo: Dignidad actress recently showcased her acting prowess in a ‘lesbian rape victim’ role. Looking closely, her diverse roles are telltale signs of a big star coming.


3. Ivana Alawi

Mariam Al-Alawi who goes by the screen name Ivana Alawi is creating a name for herself as a sexy actress. Her most recent daring role was in Ang Probinsyano where she played as a gold digger to an old rich man. But, not everyone knows that the 23-year old Sino Ang May Sala actress dreams to be a fashion designer.

In an interview with StarStudio.ph, she excitingly shared the two sports she plays: swimming and horseback riding.  Her favorite song is certainly old-school: Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko.  The rising sexy star lives by her motto: “Live your life, and don’t care about what other people say.” We all root for an empowered woman like you!

From being a finalist of a talent search, Ivana continues to attract projects towards her. Apart from Ang Probinsyano, she also played a minor role in Araw Gabi.


4. Mary Jane Apostol

If we’re talking about heavy drama roles, we can always count on the brilliant young actress Mary Jane Apostol. Majoy, as called by friends and family, started her showbiz journey by appearing in independent films. Her first role was in a short indie film titled Unawa.

Majoy won the Best Actress Award at the first ASEAN Film Awards 2018 in Vietnam for her first lead role in the critically acclaimed thriller Birdshot. She was only 13 years old when she played the character of Maya on her first feature film. Birdshot is also the first Filipino film to be available on Netflix.

People might say it was beginner’s luck, but Mary Jane has always brought out her A-game in all the roles she played after Birdshot. She became one of the leading ladies in the afternoon teleserye Los Bastardos and has continued to do heavy drama on Maalaala Mo Kaya. Recently, she also showed her excellent acting chops in Ipaglaban Mo: Sabik.


5. Sophia Reola

Starting at the tender age of 6, Sophia Corine Olivia Reola captured the viewers’ hearts from her funny remarks in Goin’ Bulilit to her compelling role in Ngayon at Kailanman. Surprisingly, the child actress’ dream role is to be a kontrabida – contrary to the characters she portrayed before.

The bubbly 10-year old actress enjoys the company of her friends in showbiz as seen on her Instagram.  She revealed in her Celebrity Slam Book that apart from her current career, it is her dream to become a doctor.

6. Heart Ramos

Heart Ramos first introduced herself as Nayomi Lheanne Ramos, Mini Me Anne Curtis of the noontime show It’s Showtime. The cute impersonator wowed the judges with her amazing talents in singing and dancing matched with her adorable personality.

Heart received her first lead role in 2017 for the teleserye My Dear Heart on Primetime Bida. She was described by her co-actors as warm and sweet.   Because of her of her energetic vibe and many talents, the 9-year old child actress was also tagged as “the life of the set”.

7. Krystal Mejes

Kyrstal Mejes was known for her role Becca in the teleserye Doble Kara in 2015. After her stint on the show, she started receiving different projects including a role in the crime-mystery indie film Nabubulok.

The 10-year old young actress still enjoys her childhood despite her busy schedule. Krystal runs a Youtube channel where she films anything under the sun—from making slimes to spontaneous vlogging.

Krystal proved her flourishing career when she won as Best Child: Promising TV Actress in the 5th Inding Indie Film Festival 2018.   She is also among the four child actors in Nang Ngumiti Ang Langit.


8. Miguel Vergara

If you think Miguel Vergara is familiar, that is probably because you remember him as the sick child in the 2012 heavy drama movie One More Try. It was his first appearance, and yet he captured our hearts instantly. Miguel started appearing in commercials at four and later developed his passion for acting.

In an interview with Magandang Buhay, his mother Mommy Bing said that it is a golden rule between them and his manager Ogie Diaz to continue his studies. So, the young actor manages his time and energy going to school and doing tapings.
