Xian Lim proves that he can do much more than acting by showing his versatility in music, hosting, and even playing basketball. These days, he’s also busy directing a film called Tabon for this year’s edition of the annual Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival.
And there’s more! In a recent interview with StarStudio.ph, Xian talked about his paintings, which his fellow artist and best friend Jason Montinola described as “a storehouse of chaotic stories.”

The actress/singer/TV host/makeup artist/fashion designer/painter and wife of another social media star and entrepreneur Nico Bolzico, loves sharing some of her artworks online.

Solenn Heussaff has had two solo art exhibits in Manila. The first one was titled “Our People” (2016). On her personal site, Solenn.ph, she said that it took her three years to put the exhibit together. “There’s just something so raw and beautiful about human expression, and I find myself always painting people,” she explained.

Solenn’s second exhibit had the title, “Kalsada” (2017), which was inspired by the street children she’s seen in her local travels.

Like JC Intal, Richard Gomez digs abstract. The term abstract comes from abstract expressionism, which is an art movement characterized by emotional expression through artworks that give off the impression of spontaneity.

The actor, who’s also the sitting mayor of Ormoc City in Leyte, had his first solo exhibit in 2017. It was titled “Surface,” and it was held in his city for the benefit of the children there. A year later, he joined the group art exhibit, “When Evening Comes,” which took place at the Pinto Museum in Antipolo city in Rizal. According to an ABS-CBN News report, Richard describes his paintings as “experiential.”

Richard, nicknamed Goma, and his beauteous wife, Lucy Torres-Gomez, posed beside one of his paintings. He posted this photo on his IG with this caption: “Done. Look at my muse smiling beside my work.” Just like Mayor Goma, Lucy is an elected official, who serves as the congressional representative of Leyte’s 4th district.
Aside from being an actress, TV host, and fashion icon, Heart Evangelista is also known for her art. She paints on canvases, dresses, and designer bags. Debuting as a visual artist in 2014, she has mounted seven exhibits to date, with the last one titled “In Full Bloom” (2018).

Heart has a lot of advocacies, and she makes it a point to combine them with her love for art. She has given painting lessons to cancer patients. She worked with fashion designer Mark Bumgarner in 2016 to create a collection of hand-painted dresses for the benefit of the Corridor of Hope Foundation and the Thalassemia International Association.

Recently, Ian was named by the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) as one of the newest arts ambassadors of the Philippines. He joined the illustrious list that include Pia Wurtzbach, KZ Tandingan, Heart Evangelista, and Boy Abunda.
In an interview posted on Inquirer.net, NCCA chair Virgilio Almario remarked: “Growing up and having someone to look up to as an artist really helped Ian to hone his ability and have his own view on art. He is significant to the earlier and younger generation.”
