When it comes to this season’s wedding gown trends, less is never more, as spotted at the 6th Marry Me At Marriott bridal fashion show held last July 30. Undoubtedly the country's most illustrious assemblage of movers in the wedding industry, the country’s top fashion designers, personalities, stylists, wedding suppliers, and soon-to-be newlywed couples gathered at the Marriott Grand Ballroom for a sampling of the much awaited 2018 wedding collections of this year's batch of world class designers.

From the architectural romance of Rosenthal Tee, the floral opulence of Mak Tumang, and the textural magnificence of Amir Sali, the entire show was an elaborate spectacle that presented a variety of dramatic bridal sartorial fantasies. Drama with a capital D seemed to be the overarching theme for this season's brides-to-be as the three designers sent out a number of options that were a delightful mix of feminine fluttery softness and inventive, directional structure. Overall silhouettes leaned towards nipped waists paired with voluminous, layered skirts complemented with thigh high slits. The collections also touched on textural couture details, such as 3-D flowers cascading down bodices, sizable tiers, pleats, and ruffles, and shimmery embroidery and embellishments. With such theatrical trends, it is clear that this year’s designers are keen on pushing the boundaries of what can be considered traditional “bridal wear.”
