It’s been a year since Kathryn Bernardo launched KathNails by KCMB, her nail salon that recently opened its fourth branch at Robinsons Place Manila. At the launch, the Teen Queen could only turn grateful for her family and her boyfriend Daniel Padilla who have all been by her side since day one. “Hindi ko alam kung paano ko ito magagawa without them. I’m very thankful kasi hindi ko feel na mag-isa lang ako dito.”

The 22-year-old admits her journey as a CEO has been quite a challenge. “Ang pinaka-challenge ay kung paano i-handle yung mga tao kasi bawat isa sa kanila, iba-iba eh. Kailangan talaga makisama ka rin,” revealed Kath, whose salons stand inside Ayala Clover Leaf, SM City North EDSA, and SM Mall of Asia. “More than just workmates, dapat ma-feel nila na family sila dito. Kapag kaya tulungan, go, pero kailangan maba-balance na may limits din lahat.”
Despite all the challenges she has faced, Kath evinced no regrets about the venture as she keeps in mind that everything she does comes with an important lesson. “Natututo naman ako sa mga simple decisions that we make and so far—at least sa ngayon—mas alam na namin mga gagawin. Mas gamay ko na lahat,” she shared, adding that it’s important to avoid mistakes as such may greatly affect the people in her team.
Kath is feeling pretty upbeat about the growth of her business. She stressed on how her business also does its CSR role through Kathryn’s Abot-Kamay Program, giving employment to her fans who didn't get to finish school but are persevering enough to prosper in life. “Hopefully magtuloy-tuloy pa and mas marami pa kaming matulungan sa mga tao namin and mas marami pang magustuhan yung service namin.”
