Georcelle Dapat-Sy a.k.a. Teacher Georcelle of G-Force may be famous for being a choreographer to stars such as Anne Curtis, Sarah Geronimo, and Nadine Lustre among others. But only a few know that she not only uses her mentoring skills on the dance floor, but also in her life as a mother of three. We chatted the dance diva up at the #Promil4IShine6 event about her journey of being a mom!

How has your motherhood journey been?
“Just like my mentoring, it’s like a roller coaster. Actually, what I do in mentoring has helped me with my parenting.”
What’s life like now with your kids?
“It’s crazy and busy because I’m back to performing and two of my kids are already teenagers and we shop together, they’re crazy about fashion, dance, music, and we really have common interests. I guess I can say na anak ko talaga sila.”
How are they different from one another?
“My eldest is a girl who is in charge of the social media team of G-Force because sobrang artistic nya when it comes to creating videos. She’s very Ate (acting) and I see the leadership in her. (The rest) really listen to her. She has this leadership at an early age. Also BJ, iba rin yung leadership skills nya and I’m very happy (about that). I think nakikita nya how we work and nai-influence na sila nun. With Gas, his interest in dance is so intense right now, and I’m very happy. He’s been watching videos and dance shows.”
What’s your fave thing about each of them?
“Jaja is my very first and whenever there are things that are sentimental, I get really emotional because she’s my very first. She’s the one who opened my mind and really brought me to motherhood. With BJ, he’s my very first son and lahat ng kakulitan, sya ang nagprepare sa akin nun. And then, they prepared me for Gas, my youngest. All of them are really special.”
How do you raise three kids altogether?
“I give them special days like Jaja-mommy special day, BJ-mommy special day, Gas-mommy special day so that mayroon akong focus sa kanila.”
What’s so far the most challenging thing about being a mom?
“When your kids are having a hard time listening to you and you have to make them understand, make them realize why they need to do things that are sometimes against their will. Our role, really, is to guide them and encourage them with a lot of good things that would prepare them in the future.”
How about the best one?
“Everything about it, even the challenges because these help me grow as a person, not just as a mom.”
