For a small city of over seven million, you'd think it's impossible to take snapshots in Hong Kong without people blocking your view. Amidst the shiny skyscrapers and glitzy shopping streets lie a seemingly dehumanized facet to this urban landscape that will only manifest to those willing to take another look. Empty museums, closed theme parks, and gloomy boardwalks are a possibility. Decrepit shops and hazy skylines would come into view once or twice. This is a Hong Kong where locals don't offer warm smiles to tourists. A scribble on a hostel’s chalkboard even reads, "Human beings are stupid." How thought-provoking.
