South StrEAT has a unique flair for the famished in the Southern part of the Metro. This hip stopover’s design was greatly inspired by the Postmodern Memphis movement.

The various food stalls in the park offer unique dishes from familiar flavors to exotic tastes. UP Fine Arts graduate Cheska del Castillo is the artistic director as well as manager of operations for her family's StrEAT food park chain.

According to Cheska, "We started with Maginhawa. 2015.  After that, we put up the Commonwealth branch, and so South Street is our third branch. It’s different from Maginhawa and Commonwealth kasi this is twice the size of Maginhawa. This is 1,200 square meters. In Maginhawa, it’s only 600. So even the menu selection of South StrEAT is more varied."

Cheska adds, "My parents and I were driving up towards Tagaytay one day, and then we said, 'Oh, that looks like a nice place to put up StrEAT!'" StrEAT is really a platform for startup entrepreneurs so we felt that there’s a need for that here. She can attest to first building a singular product business since her mother's first food park-worthy stall was Starr's Famous Shakes.

"Most of them here kasi, first business nila ‘to. Or they started with bazaars or online sales, and then proceeded to put up a physical store. We felt it was time for the South to have its own StrEAT food park."

South StrEAT Gourmand Container Park is near Nuvali in the Sta.Rosa, Laguna area (also known as Silang, Cavite). It is en route towards the scenic Tagaytay City highlands.
