With most of the country's businesses temporarily closed due to the enhanced community quarantine, it's easy for some people to stay put in their homes and go out only when essential supplies are needed. But for the big majority who survive on a day to day paycheck, home quarantine is a luxury most cannot afford. Every person is experiencing their own unique version of trying to survive the pandemic, but for more and more celebrities like Angel Locsin, Bela Padilla, and Mika dela Cruz, stepping up to do their part to improve the situation in their own ways. Last March 28, Mika—the youngest of the aforementioned—shared how she spent a whole weekend distributing face shields to frontliners across different sectors in her hometown Malabon. Mika has helped out from checkpoint officers to grocery workers, as a way to encourage more kababayans to volunteer, donate, and inspire others to make a difference in their own little ways as well.

For two days (see her documentation in our photo gallery), Mika went out of her way to lend these "superheroes" a helping hand—ending her experience with touching Instagram captions of infinite gratitude. "(Wag) po magalala.. kahit simpleng pagsspread ng awareness.. kahit simpleng words of encouragement sa mga taong hindi maganda ang kalagayan at natatakot ngayon.. kahit konting pagintindi at pagaalala po sa ating frontliners.. kahit maisama lang natin sila sa prayers natin araw araw... may nagagawa na po tayo," she said in one of her posts.
