After nine years of being one of the most low-key and steady relationships in showbiz, Mikael Daez and Megan Young finally tied the knot this year in two separate ceremonies. The couple first said their I Do’s in an intimate ceremony held in Calaruega, Batangas last January 10, before having a bigger wedding with friends and family in Megan’s hometown of Subic Bay, Zambales over the weekend.
As the couple’s wedding planner La Belle Fete narrated, Mikael and Megan wanted to create a bohemian spin to the organic theme, hence the couple holding the ceremony at a quaint chapel. They commissioned Gideon Hermosa to style the venue, adorning it with natural elements for a more dreamy feel. The theme ran in the unconventional details—for example, the former Miss World had a wreath of dried and bleached blooms turned into a bouquet, and chose to pair her elegant Patricia Santos gown with her white sneaks!
The January 25 ceremony held at El Kabayo brought in more natural and rustic elements. Lights in the shape of outstretched branches illuminated the whole area, creating an even more chill vibe throughout the event. Guests wore warm summer colors to complement the rather cozy, country theme.
At the reception, the couple themselves hosted the program, and during their first toast as man and wife, chose to do it with coffee instead of the traditional champagne. Down to the smallest detail, Mikael and Megan made their wedding a truly personal and cozy affair, personifying the couple’s laidback and loving relationship we've all grown to appreciate.
