Editor’s Note: Jane de Leon is already prepping for her first starring role. Considering how Darna is a physically demanding character, Jane works with a personal trainer and eats healthy to ensure she really looks and plays the part. This is how she’s getting her body superheroine-ready.

I work out five times a week with Culver Padilla. Gumigising ako ng 5 AM just to travel to my training. So far we’ve been training for four months, with one and a half to two hours every session.
Whole body workout sya, pero nagfo-focus ako sa legs, hips, butt, core, and shoulders. I love leg day! Hip thrust din yung pinaka-favorite ko. Mahina ako sa core, pero nag-iimprove na. Kapag sore na yung buong body ko, hindi namin pinu-push kasi baka magkasakit ako. Kaya there are supplements that I take.
Even before Darna, I’ve always been active. Twice a day ako nag-dyi-gym. Ganun ako ka-active sa pagwo-work out kasi hindi pa ako busy then. Nag-start ako mag-work out when I was 17, because I really wanted to gain weight. Sobrang skinny ako dati—like buto’t-balat talaga! Akala ko hindi ako mag-ge-gain. But I learned that I just need to eat right and work out so that ma-maintain yung katawan ko.

When it comes to my diet, I don’t eat pork. I prefer chicken, seafood, and salad. Since I have to gain more muscle for Darna, I really need to eat. Mabilis ako tumaba, mabilis ako pumayat. Ganun yung body ko, lalo na kapag marami akong ginagawa other than my training. Kapag mag-stunts ako, papayat talaga ako.
