#ABSCBNLifestyleInspo Mimiyuuuh: Coming Out Of The Closet (And Hopes For Those Who Have Yet To)

Editor’s Note: Mimiyuuuh could care less about what naysayers think of her—not because she’s ignorant to the issues surrounding her being gay, but because she has such a strong sense of self and an equally strong support system to back her up.  Still, she acknowledges that not everyone in the LGBTQ+ community can relate to her situation.  Here, the vlogger reveals how she learned to embrace her SOGIE and shares why family plays such a big part in the journey towards love and acceptance.

Alam mo ba, wala akong coming out story.

I hope to see acceptance sa families ng mga bata nating nahihirapan pa mag-out.  Sana mga parents ay mag-step up for them. I think everything will fall into place pag naaccept ka ng family mo.

Speaking of, yung pagtatanong na, “What’s your sexuality?” is something I feel hindi dapat inanounce. Dapat personal siyang bagay. Kung hindi pa siya talaga ready mag-out, wag niyo siyang pilitan mag-out at wag natin sila pangunahan. Let them be free on their own tsaka tayo susuporta sa kanila.

As I said, deadma na ako sa mga sinasabi ng ibang tao. Basta imma do me. So sinabi ko, Uh and so? Kung bading ako, bakit, mas better ka pa sakin, when in fact, mas matalino nga ako sa’yo?” Yun na lang iniisip ko. What’s good about me is my adaptability. Hindi ko hinahayaan pumasok sa sistema ko yung mga naririnig ko about me.  Okay lang sakin na maging bading as long as wala ka nang tinatapakan tao.
