Pia Wurtzbach gave us a look at the progress of her three-bedroom condominium on Instagram and we’re totally here for its elegant, modern aesthetic. “I got inspired by the different houses that I’ve been to. I go to somebody’s house and then I see something that I like and I try to remember that,” she tells ABS-CBN Lifestyle at the launch of the newest branch of Center for Advanced Dentistry in Greenhills, San Juan. “I noticed that what I like pala, it all falls under one category, which is mid-century modern. 'Yun pala talaga ang gusto ko so that’s what I asked for.”
“I kind of have a masculine taste when it comes to furniture,” the CAD ambassador reveals, adding that she’s still in the process of making its every corner personalized. “I don’t want it to look na pagpasok mo, ‘Oh, it’s a beauty queen’s place.’ I want it to be more of me—not so much Miss Universe but more of Pia.”
Like any other person in the limelight, however, Pia made sure to have enough space for her clothes, shoes, and makeup so she converted one bedroom into a makeup room. “Sometimes, I’d bring in a glam team and they need space. Before, we used to do a setup in the living room and now, I dedicated one room just for that purpose.”
When asked about her favorite part of her new place, she was quick to point out the bathroom. “Dati kasi, nung medyo nagsa-struggle pa kami, we didn’t have a proper bathroom and we didn’t even have a sink. Yung door, hook lang yung pangsara niya tapos parang ina-anay na yung pintuan. It was in bad condition,” she opens up, expressing gratitude for the many blessings she has received. “Now, not only do I have one, but two sinks. I realized when I walked into my bathroom, my dream bathroom came true. It’s so clean, it’s so nice, I just love it. It feels really good and ‘yun yung medyo proud moment ko when I realized how far of a difference it was from back then.”
