Just last month, Elisse Joson reopened her restobar to the public with a new concept for Bites by Stylisse. The Kapamilya star made use of the garage of a building in Mandaluyong City that her family has owned even before she joined the ‘biz and moved to Quezon City. “Naisip namin, why not make use of the space? Doon nagsimula yung thought to do something out of it,” she tells ABS-CBN Lifestyle.
The idea came from the strip of restaurants and bars in the usual hangout spots around the metro. This one, however, serves up an atmosphere that’s a lot more laid-back and relaxing. “It’s a casual tambayan, yung parang hindi ka maiilang to come here and chill with your friends because it’s not high-end," she explains. "Parang neighborhood lang sya. Kung gusto mo ng quiet place, yung away from the usual crowd, this is the place to be.”
Elisse excitedly says the theme and interiors followed the zen vibe of Morocco—a country she has yet to explore. “It’s a dream for me to visit the place. Yung mga nakikita ko sa photos, I already got inspired by it. But since hindi pa ako nakakapunta doon to know everything about it, sabi ko, gusto ko inspired nalang doon sa Moroccan theme,” she continues. But some Filipino touches, she stresses, now make the place a little more assorted. “So ayun, parang ang naging ending nya is more of an eclectic type so halo-halo na sya.”
