Born in Canada from a Korean mother and a Dutch-Canadian father named Sunhee and Matthew, Ennik Somi Douma known as Somi is a 18-year-old K-Pop idol who we first saw as one of the contestants of JYP Entertainment's survival reality program Sixteen. The goal of the show is to find members for the nine-member girl group TWICE that they're going to handle.
In the said show, Somi is one of the contestants who made everyone in awe with her doll-like features and various skills. Besides being able to dance and sing, this girl is also good in taekwondo, caricatures, and cooking. Training for more than two years already, we're not surprised that she's multitalented girl.

Unfortunately, she got eliminated in the final round and didn't debut under JYP Entertainment. But, Somi didn't gave up on her dreams and eventually got what she truly deserves. Last June 13, she released her first solo single "Birthday" which has already more than 11 million views. On the other hand, her first solo album with the same name topped various Korean music charts in just 24 hours of its release! In case you're wondering about the title of her single, she explained, “Birthday means the day of birth. It also has the meaning as the day I was reborn as a solo singer. ‘Outta My Head’ is my self-composed song. I didn’t have any idea of writing lyrics and composing, but my company producers helped me. I experienced the pain of creating for the first time.” Watch the "Birthday" MV below:
