ZYX KatsuMaki, a rooftop shack, is fast-becoming an Elyu favorite since opening its doors in March 2018. Owner Lalis Follosco initially sold mixed maki in a bilao through her online business Makimoto.ph, which she started five years ago. The full-time mom later saw this grow from just a sideline to a good source of extra income, then expanding the menu to full Japanese. “The people here loved it. And that pushed us to have a space rented for our very own ZYX KatsuMaki,” she tells ABS-CBN Lifestyle.

It’s hard to pick one favorite at ZYX KatsuMaki, but go ahead and try out their bestseller—the sushi doughnut ZYX Fusion Dough. Don't miss the Seafood boodle Shifudo Teriyaki as well, which is perfect for big groups. Personally, Lalis recommends the resto's version of the California Maki called Makimoto.
ZYK KatsuMaki has also opened a branch in Candon, Ilocos Sur, so if you’re planning to drive a little further north, you might want to include it in your travel itinerary as well!
