Hot Stuff: For #LaborUnion2019, 'One Paradise' Stages Another Roaring Concert For A Cause In LU

Beach parties remain the most ultimate way to bond and have fun during the summer. But why not make it more worthwhile if given the chance? After staging its first successful edition last year in the same spot on Labor Day Weekend, One Paradise returned to the surfing haven of San Juan last April 26 to hold another beachfront concert that mixed fun and advocacies on environmental care together. The event, produced by One Music PH with ABS-CBN Lifestyle, Myx, and La Union-based NGO LU Soul, kicked off #LaborDay2019 with a stellar lineup of musicians and celebrities all calling against the use of single-use plastic.

Hosted by Vince Velasco and Samm Alvero, One Paradise put up-and-coming musicians like Three Two One, Tanakuta, and Cane City front and center as the event approached sunset. Right about early evening, the event hovered its lights over bigger names like Sue Ramirez, AC Bonifacio, and Jason Fernandez, and finally headliner Parokya Ni Edgar, who delivered an hour-long, roaring performance to cap off the night. Model-actor Luis Hontiveros, representing the ABS-CBN Lifestyle Hotshots of 2019, also appeared to tickle the crowd with an entertaining dating game. In between sets, One Paradise lent LU Soul the stage to reiterate its message against causing anymore environmental burdens—all while keeping the spirit of fun and music alive throughout the night.
