Before the summer break officially starts, we didn't pass on the chance to inject some fun into the last few school days of the students of the Philippine Women's University as we kicked off the #ChalkCampusTour2019 last March 27 at the Conrado Benitez Hall.
Bringing an all-female roster of speakers to celebrate Women's Month, we made sure that every Philwomenian got inspired to #LookGood, LoveHard, and #LiveYoung. Instilling some valuable lessons in them were vlogger Alex Gonzaga, model and body positivity advocate Kat Gumabao, and radio DJ and host Cara Eriguel. For a quick recap, here's what occurred during their uplifting segments!
#LiveYoung with Alex Gonzaga
Currently one of the biggest vloggers in the industry, Alex shared how she stands by her beliefs and identity amidst her social media fame. She pointed out the importance of authenticity in the digital age. "Bago kayo magbukas ng social media accounts, dapat kilala niyo kung sino kayo," she says. The next time someone tells us something about ourselves that we know isn't true, we would definitely not let it affect us anymore!
#LookGood with Kat Gumabao
An international plus-size model and body positivity advocate, Kat Gumabao has reached her dreams because of her indubitable love for herself. She talked about how looking good comes from the person, not from the clothes you wear. She didn't love herself before which in return made her feel insecure. She recalls, "I did everything to lose weight, and when I did, I wasn't happy. But when I realized that loving myself is the key, that's when I started looking good to other people because I felt good about myself inside." Now, it's time to look at the mirror and appreciate every bit of ourselves!
#LoveHard with Cara Eriguel
Radio DJ and host Cara Eriguel told us her hacks when it comes to relationships. During her talk, we learned that if you think you're not worthy of love, you'll never feel loved. Self-love is bigger than just pampering yourself because it's also the key to finding the one. She says, "If the way you see yourself is this small, the kind of person you attract will be a person that sees you that small, too."
