Maiqui and I's story? How do I start without sounding condescending...
Well, this relationship with Maiqui I can say is authentic and genuine. We share different experiences and have different worlds. And yet somehow, it works. We work.

I’ve known Maiqui and her twin sister a while back. They attended high school at Saint Pedro Poveda. Word always got out that about these pretty twins studying in that school, so, of course, myself from Ateneo, malalaman ko. Eventually, we all went to Ateneo—I took up a pre-med course while she took up Management. Because of common friends, we knew of each other. Yet, every year, Maiqui and I would see each other for the ABS-CBN Christmas Special. The twins would always go because they love local entertainment. Every time I'd see them, they were always together. But, this particular Christmas special in 2017 was different. Wala yung isa.
I would start a conversation with her, “Oh, where’s your sister, your other half?”
“Ah, wala, she’s not here. She’s working in Hong Kong.”
“Okay, so where’s your better half?”
“Wala na, we broke up.”
“Okay, you wanna talk about it?”

That time I was single, but I had no intentions, no intentions at all. We talked from 1 AM and finished around 4 AM. It was a good talk. I was telling her my experiences being inside this bar and dancing on the table! I invited her to join me next time—it's cathartic if you wanna move on, I told her. It was a good talk. She texted me the next day, thanking me for it.
For guys, iba yung naramdaman mo pag nag-text yung girl. It felt like, “Uy, type ako nito!” Twas just a feeling! Ha ha! From then on, we started messaging each other. Every single day.
