A concert featuring Ben&Ben, Oh, Flamingo!, Leanne & Naara, and Dane Hipolito among others whom we know are fast bannering a new wave of OPM easily became local music fans' kick-starter last January 5. Held at the Eastwood Central Plaza, Quezon City, the event isn't the only one at least this month. Other Filipino musicians—with sponsoring pizza brand Yellow Cab—are set to tour the country for a series of Pinoy sound spectacles.
Yellow Cab dubs the event series as Yellow Cab Pizza Tour. Set to take place in major cities of all weekends in January, it offers the audience not only a chance to see and listen to these up-and-coming homegrown artists but also, yes, a free pizza slice. "(It) is our way of showing support to those who hustle the hardest for what they believe is so worth it," Mark de Joya, Brand Development Director of Yellow Cab Pizza Co. said in a statement. “We look forward to fueling more hustlers with our edge-to-edge pizzas and legendary chicken and pasta in our succeeding tour stops.”
The Yellow Cab Pizza Tour will headline Turncoats, Amateurish, and Jethro Sandico a.k.a. DJ Jethro at Baguio-AyalaLand Technohub, Baguio City on January 12; One Life Band and Next Option at Damosa Gateway, Davao on January 19; and Wonggoys, Pythagorean Band, and DJ Gnoevee at Cebu IT Park, Cebu City on January 26.
