Let’s be honest, it’s hard not to compare ourselves to others when we come across Instagram posts of celebrities and influencers that measure up to the traditional standards of what is considered “beautiful and sexy”–you know, those with long hair, fair skin, ideal height, skinny body, and a list that goes on.
It used to be the same for Baninay Bautista. But not anymore.
“Before, I was insecure sa lahat ng ‘maganda’ at ‘sexy.’ For me, being beautiful and sexy is being confident.
Being at peace with her insecurities, the former actress said, brought her genuine happiness. “I learned to appreciate myself more and to focus on my positive side. I have my own kagalingan, and yung energy ko lahat binubuhos ko kung saan ako magaling and kung saan ako mas kilala and that, I think, is vlogging,” she shared. For someone who seems to have figured herself out, it’s about knowing who you truly are. More than anyone else, dapat yung sarili mo yung number one supporter mo."
