Nearly two years into the outstanding success of their on-screen tandem, Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia are both at the top of their game. Their easy chemistry coupled with their natural aptitude for acting has put them on an entirely different plane in their line of career. But aside from tickling our romantic bones, we proved that these two cherish their craft the most and constantly find ways to fuel the fire of their passions.
In her childhood, Julia watched her family bask in the spotlight as she stood on the sidelines. Through secondhand knowledge, the young actress must have known how hard the life of a celebrity can get. It was a wonder where Julia gets the courage to brave the hardships that come with it, but she explained that it was her passion that kept her going.
“I’m just so blessed that I get to do what I love,” she shared, true to the saying that when you’re doing something you love, you never have to work a day in your life. “As long as you have that passion and fire in your heart for your craft, you’ll want to wake up every day to do the same thing.”
While Julia uses her passion to endure the harrowing business, Joshua channels his to become better at his craft. After all, when you’re as passionate as this heartthrob, you know that there’s always more to learn and there will always be the desire to grow.
“Nagkakataon kasi na challenging yung mga project na binibigay sa amin,” explained Joshua. “Gaganahan kang magtrabaho kasi may matututunan kang bago.” Based on what he said, we feel that he's the kind of actor who prefers pressure because there’s no better and more effective way to improve.
These two have given what it takes to prove to the world that they deserve to be where they are at present. However, they are also well aware that it’s impossible to please everyone. One way or another, people will always have something to say about them.
We asked how they deal with bashers and haters, and Julia quickly quipped, “In the first place, we don’t deal with them.” Seeing that these two are still stronger than ever, it just goes to show that it would take a lot to rile up either of them.
While it's obviously no easy feat to maintain composure especially when everything and everyone seem to be testing them, Joshua and Julia have stood their ground through and through. The fact that they are starring in a another rom-com film, this time with Queen of All Media Kris Aquino, entitled I Love You, Hater is enough proof.
These two aren't going anywhere; JoshLia will always perform beyond everyone’s expectations, deliver stunning outcomes, and push whatever boundaries exist until there are none.
Brought to us by Star Cinema, I Love You, Hater opens July 11, 2018.
