The student designers from the Fashion Design GIFT class of St. Paul College Pasig opened our eyes to new interpretations of "paradise" with their creations during the SPCP Fashion Show titled 'Paraiso' last January 26 at the Ayala Malls The 30th.
Paradise, being a subjective concept, was the perfect theme which allowed students to exercise their creative freedom that artists seek through their own perception of Paraíso. The two major chapters of the show, 'Medianoche' and 'Salida de Sol,' each displayed contrasting versions of paradise—the first chapter featured designs that gave off an ethereal mood to showcase the lighter, tropical side of paradise while the latter leaned towards the darker side as the chapter was inspired by the Mexican tradition of Dia Delos Muertos of The Day of the Dead.
"[The designers] wanted the viewers to feel the way being in your own slice of heaven feels like tranquil yet colorful peaceful yet fun," shared Jazmine Torregoza, one of the project heads of the event.
