It seems like the odds are ever in our favor. After Pia Wurtzbach's Miss Universe win, comes chef and restaurateur Margarita Forés' recognition as Asia’s Best Female Chef by The World’s Best 50:

Margarita “Gaita” Forés is famous for her Italian cuisine fused with Filipino sensibilities. She is the genius behind these concept dining establishments:

Cibo. Cibo literally means "food" in Italian. Although Chef Gaita did not have a culinary arts degree, she's always had a special love for food and considers herself an "Italian in the past life," as she notes on her Instagram bio. Cibo remains to be top of mind when it comes to authentic Italian dishes even after 18 years, and despite the ever expanding food industry—proof that it's excellent food and service has captured the hearts of many Filipinos.

Lusso. Its classy and luxurious ambiance really lives up to the meaning of the Italian word lusso—"luxe".
