Daily Diaries: Doubled Convenience with Double-decker Buses?

Just recently, news broke about the roll out of a point-to-point (P2P) double-deck bus service along EDSA spearheaded by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). Since then, commuters and private vehicle owners alike were intrigued. Would double-decker buses also mean doubled convenience or doubled disappointment?

Read on for some quick facts and you be the judge:

P2P bus service don’t make any stops. If you’re all about getting to your destination quick, this might be a good option since the said bus service operated by Froehlich Tours won’t be making any stops. At present, it takes a route from SM North EDSA, Quezon City going to Glorietta 5, Makati City.

Everybody gets to sit. Yes, the buses don’t have grab handles for standing passengers because, well, everybody gets to sit. And as if that reassurance isn’t enough, everybody gets to be seated comfortably.

Letters that matter: CCTV, A/C, CR, TV, Wi-Fi. These days, these things have become basic staples to making one’s life more comfortable and yes, even more enjoyable. Now you don’t have to hold your pee should EDSA become a huge parking lot again. You can now also relax a bit and not worry every second about being robbed at any point. Somehow the use of CCTV cameras would send ill-willed people thinking twice. And full A/C matched with TV and Wi-Fi? Such a winning combination.

You pay more. The P2P bus ride costs around P20 more than the regular bus. Yes, you certainly pay more. But when you get more comfort and convenience, not to mention you get more time saved, then who wouldn't say it’s a win-win?

So do you think more people would consider leaving their cars behind and take these buses instead? Where else do you want to see these buses? Let us know in your comments below!
