How exactly does working out with a partner help, if you were to believe these sexy pairs?

First, working out helps create quality time. Not only does exercising with your partner Increase happiness in your relationship and stimulate physiological arousal, as Theresa E. DiDonato Ph.D. reported on Psychology Today. The mimicking part happening in between sets and reps also heightens emotional bond.

"Nonverbal mimicry helps people feel emotionally attuned with one another, and those who experience or engage in it tend to report greater feelings of having “bonded” with their partner. Exercising together provides an opportunity to create such connection, benefiting both your health and your relationship," DiDonato wrote.

Secondly, exercising together also improves the efficiency of the workout—factoring in the presence of a personal spotter. "Even if you already feel competent doing a particular exercise, bringing along your romantic partner may be a fantastic way to boost your energy output. Your partner’s presence will improve your speed, without you necessarily being aware of their influence," DiDonato said, citing a 1983 study on social facilitation.
