Just because you're just at home, your nails have to be boring. One way to brighten up your nails (and mood!) is not only by painting cute colors, but drawing on them, too. Thankfully, despite the coronavirus crisis, it's easy to get nail art inspiration online.
We're talking about celebrities.
"Celebrities are very current and usually want designs that are trendy," mentions Mimi Qiu, celebrity nail artist to Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Anne Curtis, Bea Alonzo, and Liza Soberano among others.
For 2020's hottest nail trends, Mimi names spring collection colors, translucent shades, and minimalist nails. "Creativity is key to achieving what our clients want. They give us pegs and we create it for them."
To help you get started in DIY nail art at home, Mimi shares these six easy nail art designs she previously did for her celebrity clients. (Take note that Mimi used gel polish for her clients. If unavailable, use any regular polish and tweak on your own!)

To cop Sarah Lahbati's Siargao bachelorette nails, first apply a clear base coat and polish. Next, get a gold glitter polish and nail art brush and begin drawing small stars. Finish off by using a top coat.
Minimalist Glitter Nails
Mimi decided to do a simple glitter on Anne Curtis for her baby shower. To get this look, apply two layers of pinkish nude base polish first. Next, swipe pink metallic polish from the side across the nails. Use a top coat to seal the polish.

As a crisis volunteer, Bela Padilla sure does know how to bring smiles! To do Bela’s smiley nail art, apply your usual base coat. Next, choose a bright yellow shade and apply two coats. Finally, using your nail brush detailer and black polish, begin drawing simple smiley faces on each nail.
Nothing beats a classic red nail. Put it up a notch a la Bea Alonzo by putting hearts on it! Apply your base coat and fiery red polish as you would normally do, and then use a nail brush detailer to draw a small, white heart on one of the edges of your nails.
If you’re up for a little challenge, try Maine Mendoza’s nail art. First, apply a pinkish polish as base. Next, create a red French tip according to your nail’s shape on four of your fingernails. Use your nail brush to create the lips, starting with a big curve at the bottom that looks like a crescent moon. Next, draw two waves on top and add more polish to build the thickness of the lips. Leave it to completely dry before applying a matte top coat.
