Earth Hour takes a different turn this year largely because of the COVID-19 pandemic that has inflicted 176 countries as of press time. A World Wide Fund (WWF) initiative that invites millions in more than 180 countries to switch their lights off for an hour, Earth Hour 2020 now on digital conveys the same symbolic message of Earth protection right at home.
#EarthHourPH2020 happens on March 28, 2020 at 8:30 PM. Organized by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF Philippines) that implements various conservation projects to help protect some of Asia's most biologically-significant ecosystems, the event also seeks to call Filipinos to care not just for the environment but also for their fellows in these trying timea. This, by either small (staying at home to promote social distancing) or big (volunteering and donating to our health workers and other frontliners).
In the following video, WWF-Philippines Earth Hour Ambassador Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski stars in a video campaign that says how—despite man-made caused resource depletion and a pandemic—it's never too late to #ChangeTheEnding.
