At last, Gazini Ganados’ national costume was revealed to the pubic. During the Preliminary Round at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia, our Miss Universe Philippines 2019 sashayed down the competition stage in a glittery, head-turning ensemble.
Sitting in the audience was ABS-CBN journalist Dyan Castillejo, who captured the very moment on her Instagram. Here, you'd see Gazini wearing a silver, long-sleeved gown with details that resemble feathers. Completing the outfit was a matching headpiece and prop eagles hanging inches away from her shoulders. Adding to the drama, Gazini showed that the feathers that then turned into wings.
The day before, designer Cary Santiago described in length the concept behind this stunning look. He drew inspiration from the Philippine Eagle, citing that the result “is not as flamboyant but the details are very intricate. Its[sic] hand-stitched all coming from the same fabric with my signature laser cut[sic] pattern.”
He also talked about his experience working with the model-cum-beauty queen and revealed that they’ve been working together for five years.
This is just one of the many looks Gazini will rock as Miss Universe Philippines. Expect more from Gazini and Cary during the finals on December 9 (Manila time)!
