The Six Fix: Ways You Can Think Pink This October For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Six Fix: Ways You Can Think Pink This October For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Everywhere you look this October, you will see pink ribbons and shades of pink as this month marks Breast Cancer Awareness worldwide. According to the Department of Health and Global Data on Cancer, more than 140,000 new cancer cases and more than 80,000 cancer deaths are expected in the Philippines every year. Breast cancer is by far the most common cancer among women in the Philippines and worldwide with over 31.4% new cases of breast cancer among Pinays were reported in 2018.

Alarming as it is, many organizations and individuals join forces to help increase attention and support for the awareness, early detection and find a cure for the disease, and to show support for all men and women diagnosed with breast cancer.

In recent years, more and more fashion and beauty brands are starting to be part of this crusade, allowing consumers to help, in their own ways, to support cancer research programs. So, if you're looking for ways you can help, check out the different activities, products, and promos exclusive this month below.

1. Join A Fun Run

Fun runs are a great way to get your body moving and bond with your friends. On October 19, 2019, gather your friends and family and have a fun day with ColorManila and Avon Philippines as they join forces in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. With a mission to continue to help more women do breast self-exam, raise awareness, and take action for this condition, Avon Philippines is hosting a fundaising fun run event at the Filinvest City Events Grounds, Alabang called Pink Light Night Run and Walk 2019 to donate and support the Philippine Cancer Society.

2. Purchase a reusable water bottle

Just by purchasing a water bottle you can already help make a real difference. Kleen Kanteen Philippines just released the newest Classic Insulated 20oz in Carnival Candy in support of women battling with breast cancer. Part of the proceeds from this bottle will be donated to I Can Serve Foundation, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This bottle is available online and in stores at Certified Calm BGC, The Podium and Power Plant Mall.
