We are just a few days a way from the official launch of SuperM. Dubbed as the "Avengers of K-Pop," this supergroup is made up of already-established idols from SHINee, EXO, NCT, and WayV and are expected to push boundaries in the global music scene. They haven't yet revealed a lot about their sound, but the anticipation towards the dynamic combination this new venture could bring to the future of K-pop keep us on our toes.
But some fans are hating on the idea, fearing it could interfere with the members' original group activities and questioning why the label couldn't instead spend their energy promoting their main groups' comebacks. We get where y'all coming from but there's still bigger reasons why they're still worthy of our support. Maybe consider these:
They're composed of the most talented idols.
SHINee's Taemin, EXO's Kai and Baekhyun, NCT's Mark and Taeyong, and WayV's Ten and Lucas—with this lineup, SuperM definitely would never be short of talent. Just imagining their combined power in one music video or on stage is already overwhelming!
They've worked hard for it.
In between their individual activities, it's also their priority to practice and prepare for SuperM's debut. Members themselves have been anxious and at the same time looking forward for it since the first time they heard about it. How can we not shower them with support when we know they've worked twice as hard for it?
It'll give them global exposure.
Come October 4, SuperM will be formally introduced worldwide primarily in America through the joint partnership of SM Entertainment and Capitol Records. This won't be their first exposure in the international scene, but it's worth to give them all the more recognition because it's what they deserve. #KingsOnly!
It's not the end for your fave groups.
To clear up the misunderstanding, keep this in mind: SuperM isn't the end for SHINee, EXO, NCT, and WayV. They'll still be doing all those in addition to their supergroup activity. They know they have their own groups and just want to enjoy their new endeavor. Taemin said, "Don't worry too much," so don't sweat it!
It's an opportunity for fandoms to unite.
The huge number of Shawols, EXO-Ls, NCTzens, and newly-named WayZenNi is undeniable, and SuperM is poised to bring a united twist to all those fanbases. So throw away the wars, whoever is your bias among the seven would sure love it if we'd all come together as one.
While the K-pop supergroup anticipates the big moment ahead of them, we hope you could also see it in you to be with them in their journey to the top. With SuperM and super fans together, there sure is something for us in the future!
