Having found and carved their niche, these collegiate stars creatively express themselves in feats that reflect their identity in spectacular fashion.

Genesis Redido (University of Santo Tomas)

Genesis is on the helm of one this season’s most promising teams. With a promise to gamble risks and ensure victory through sheer hard work, it’s sure to be a spectacular season for the UST Mens Volleyball Team. Having achieved a spot on the roster of UST Growling Tigers has already given way to even bigger dreams, a testament to his dedication to personal growth. His attitude in life exudes in how he interacts with others and how he expresses himself in what he wears. “I don’t necessarily go by trends, but to simply remain true to myself is my priority.”

I feel happy when I’m creating content because I feel like I’m also making other people happy.” Her art is inspired by her travels, and though platform is relatively new, her personality on Instagram is undeniably mature. Her stand on fashion is self-aware and simple. “How you project yourself to other people is how they’ll remember you.”

Christiana Dimaunahan (National University)
NU Hoop Destroyer

“My dad had to bring me in training just to watch [back] then. I tried to copy the players who were shooting the ball and found that I enjoyed it so I didn’t stop until I made one shot.” Standing true to her name, Christiana is unconquerable and invincible, but she never forgets to have fun – this applies even to her style. “There’s no standard or handbook in style, just be who you are. Don’t think of anything else; whatever makes you feel good and confident, that’s how you score.”

The journey to find what defines his passion took a while, but Jayvee has always been steadfast in being a good sport. This mindset is inspired by his mom, who he just wants to make proud. Despite all the challenges, he remains grounded in hard work and a good game. “Life will constantly serve you, but you have to keep on battling on with a clear mind and a goal to overcome.” Reflective of this ideology is the clean and suave style that Jayvee sports every day.

Kym Vergara (Southville International School)

Beyond the technicality of dance is the expression of art, the emotions of the music, and the message embedded within. “I love the thought that I’m striving hard for my passion,” Kym, a dancer and incoming freshie at Southville International says, “it is through dance that I’m able to express myself.” When it comes to style, Kym opts for the more basic items because his expression is in movement. Kym’s fashion must-haves: plain or plaid shirts in black, gray or white, and a clean white pair of sneakers.

Pia shares that someday, she also wants to make a name for herself in volleyball and her other passion which is modeling. “It makes me happy doing it.
