ABS-CBN Lifestyle Asks: All-Star Games 2019 Ballers Spill Their Most Realistic Fitness Tips

Getting one's dream bod requires motivation, discipline, effort, time, and—more often than not—money. We already know this universal rule, given the fact that we also come in different shapes and sizes. Keeping fit also gets very technical, counting in physiology, diet and nutrition, allergies, metabolic rate, and other factors. Thus, it's always comforting to know we are not alone in this perpetual endeavor, with some of our fave stars putting as much work to stay in shape, too.

Days before they participate at the much-anticipated All-Star Games 2019, these young athletic guns then reveal the most realistic fitness advice they can give! Realistic, we say, as these are tips drawn out of experience!

Elmo Magalona. "You can’t rely everything on working out. You have to follow a certain diet for your specific body type."

Kyle Echarri. "It takes discipline. Discipline is number one for me. When you’re talking about diet you always have to stick to it and even if you try the smallest thing it’s already breaking your discipline. So, stick to it."

Jeremiah Lisbo. "Nakadepende parin siya sa kinakain mo. Kahit mag-work out ka nang mag-work out, kung hindi healthy yung kinakain mo…nonsense."

McCoy de Leon. "Have a goal. ‘Pag may goal talaga, tuloy tuloy na ‘yun. Kapag meron kang gustong i-achieve, hindi mo na iisipin yung time, sakit ng katawan mo, problema, or yung mental aspect ng pag-work out. Kasama na rin doon yung discipline. Yun lang naman yun—goal at discipline."

Grae Fernandez. "Sweat an hour a day every day."

Jerome Ponce. "Find stuff you can do at home. Push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, dips—yun muna. Like ako, more on body weight ang target ko imbis sa weights mismo. Sometimes, yung workout ginagawa ko nalang pagkagising dahil sa busy schedule."


Nash Aguas. "Ako dati iniisip ko nagpupunta lang ng gym para magmukhang maganda yung katawan. Pero actually, it’s to feel good and mas marami kang magagagawa—pantanggal din sya ng stress. Kaya, I guess, find the right motivation for working out."
