In Focus: What ‘Golden Milk' Is And Why It’s Good For You

As the name suggests, golden milk is pretty much what it’s called—gold milk, to be put simply. Although what should be pointed out is that this isn’t a type of milk extracted from a new animal or source, but is just regular dairy milk mixed with turmeric tea!

But before we get to why golden milk is good for you, let’s back pedal a bit to how this came to be. For those familiar with what turmeric tea is, there’s a good chance you’d already be aware of its benefits as well. But as healthy as it is, some people just opt not to drink it because of its strong flavor. And because of this, an alternative to make it more tolerable came about by mixing it with a flavor-neutralizing ingredient, which in this case, is milk.

So golden tea really just is a fancier way of saying “turmeric tea latte,” where instead of mixing turmeric powder in water, it’s mixed in milk, along with pepper and other spices, and sometimes a little bit of coconut oil. Not only does it taste really good, but it also provides some good health benefits as well!
