The peace concert is expected to encourage the culture and art exchange between the two countries as it features the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra and the Seocho Philharmoniker of Korea. A silent tribute to the Filipino and Korean veterans of the Korean War will be performed by the national anthems of the two countries before the concert.
To honor the Korean War Veterans, the two philharmonic orchestras will perform a wide repertory including the Korean folk song "Bimbok" and the Korean ‘Bloating song, "Arirang Fantasy," and Haydn "Trumpet Concerto (3rd Movement)."
During the bilateral meeting of the Philippines and Korea last year, the year 2019 was agreed to be the “Year of mutual exchange” to acknowledge the 70th anniversary of PH and Korea’s diplomatic ties.
Korea and the Philippines are expected to further strengthen their bonds, particularly in the people to people exchange, through a series of events and programs in both countries within the year.
