From Esperanza's Paola to Agua Bendita's Criselda down to Kadenang Ginto's Daniela, Dimples Romana's kontrabida characters may have been among the most hated in modern television. In real life, though, the acclaimed actress has a heart of gold. Recently, she retired her wigs used in her portrayal of the petrifying Daniel Mondragon-Bartolome—but for a cause.

Dimples previously wore that signature short bob as she was simultaneously taping a movie that needed her 'do a little longer. She turned quite infamous for it even inspiring viewers of the show to make funny memes and do impressions online. But Dimples didn’t let it dishearten her, and instead, took it as a way to spread encouragement as part of her cause.
Dimples had the bright idea to buy 30 wigs similar to what Daniela wore, and then give it away to 30 of her Kadenang Gingto fans who have lost their hair from chemotherapy or such. She announced this through an Instagram post, “Naisip ko na because i-re-retire ko na nga yung wig ko sa… my iconic wig as Daniela on Kadenang Ginto, I asked some of you, or I asked most of you, to send me your messages or kung sino gusto niyong i-surprise na biggest fan ng Kadenang Ginto, at the same time, if they lost their treatment, the same way my sister did.”
It can be recalled that Dimples' sister has passed from leukemia, and this charitable deed the actress did fittingly as tribute to her late sister (who would be 31 last May 17).
She hoped that in her own little way, she could emanate compassion. “I hope kung sino man ang reregaluhan nyo, will feel happy and more empowered and sana magustuhan nila ‘to. And don’t forget to spread more kindness."

Dimples revealed further the inspiration behind her act. “When she (Sarah) was smaller, nagsusuot sya ng wig much like Daniela’s, but yung kanya was in a hat and it had hair under it. I think that’s one of the reasons why I’m very comfortable wearing my wig because I feel na parang I remember her through it and I know how tough it was for her going through such a difficult battle of cancer when she was smaller."
She then shared how this phase in her family’s life has taught them a lot of things, including the value of kindness. “We never know how hard the battle is na pinaglalabanan natin na hindi natin nakikita or naipapakita sa iba."
