Metrowear Luxe Designer Profile: Maureen Disini Is On A Mission to Make Women Feel and Be Beautiful

How do we love Maureen Disini? Let us count the ways. For one, Maureen’s penchant for draping has made Grecian goddesses of anyone willing to try out her designs. Then there are her prints that have us dreaming of idyllic summer-scapes in her kaftans that even the likes of Ces Drilon can be found wearing on the evening news show. Finally, there’s Maureen herself. Petite in stature, her personality is larger than life—self-assured and well traveled, she is every bit the modern woman many of us aspire to be.

Her designs are fuss-free, focusing on easy, simple, and feminine pieces that, she likes to say, “masks and highlights.” “I want to make my clients feel beautiful and be beautiful, and I can do that by masking certain areas and highlighting their assets,” she relates. Though her career has been marked by laudable success including a trunk show in Tokyo last year, Maureen still feels as if she’s a young designer with only four years of experience under her belt. Despite all that, Maureen’s plate is full, having just capped off her first solo gala, customized work for clients, and RTW collaborations with brands such as Mosaic. If keeping busy is any sign of success, her career is definitely on the up and up.
