Let's all admit it—as fans, we can sometimes be quick to overlook the downsides of being a celebrity. While stepping into the spotlight may seem easy and uncomplicated (thanks to the fame and money that come with it), beyond all that are a set of bashers, early call times, and busy schedules that make them wish they had more than 24 hours in a day. How do they manage, you ask? Here’s what some Kapamilya stars revealed to us at the 2019 Star Magic Games!
Marco Gallo: "You gotta work with happiness. You gotta do the job that you like kasi kapag hindi mo naman gusto yung trabaho mo, hindi magiging madali ang day mo. You should choose the job that you love and magiging easy na 'yun lahat."
McCoy De Leon: "Siyempre healthy food, vitamins, and gym. If hindi ko siya nagagawa every day, I make sure kapag marami akong kinakain, binabawi ko agad. Kailangan din sobrang positive ka sa lahat ng bagay. Sobrang nakakatulong kapag inisip mong maganda ang buhay at magiging masaya ito."
Donny Pangilinan: "I play basketball. I used to do track and field also. I really make it a priority to give my body some exercise because it’s always best to keep your body in shape. I sometimes have a hard time, though, because of my schedule but as much as possible, if I can get in a workout or play some basketball and do some sports, I would do it!"
Vivoree Esclito: "I find time—around three times a week—kahit fifteen to thirty minutes to keep myself sweating. I dance, I do freestyle. Nagpapatugtog lang ako and sinasayawan ko lang. May mga workouts din akong ginagawa. That keeps me physically fit and refreshed in a way."
Julia Barretto: "Prayers! (laughs) Every minute counts when I’m at work so every chance I get to nap, to breathe, to shut my eyes, to just calm my body, I just take the opportunity. Honestly, I only workout when I have the time pero when I’m super busy, I don’t like to stress my body out already because it’s already stressed as it is with the schedule, and iwas sakit lang din so I don’t want to overwork my body. I think a balance of everything is perfect—a good balance of workout, a good balance of food. If you’re full, you can stop naman. That’s my thing. I don’t overdo it."
Erich Gonzales: "Badminton is what I love to do talaga so it’s all about time management. If there’s anything I’d want to do, I’ll make time for it talaga. No excuses. Aside from this, I also watch what I eat pero siyempre, there are times na I have cheat days kasi I like sweets din."
Ronnie Alonte: "Ako, ine-enjoy ko lang kasi kung sobrang busy mo tapos ang iniisip mo yung sobrang pagta-trabaho, talagang mase-stress ka lang and mawawalan ka ng energy. Just like in school, ang pasok ko is trabaho, tapos pahinga, then basketball."
