In Focus: PBB Otso’s Karina And Aljon Taught Us These 3 Lessons About Having A Crush

We often hear people talk, write, and share stories about the pain of unrequited love. But what we don’t hear about too much is what happens when you fall in love with someone who’s already in a relationship. Because in some cases, this kind of situation can be more painful to navigate than a love not returned. Imagine, not only can you not have them for yourself, but you have to see them with their significant other. And even if you aren’t seeing them, we know you’re picturing them together. Truthfully, having feelings for someone who’s in a relationship is painful, plain and simple.

That’s why we couldn’t imagine how hard it is for Pinoy Big Brother Otso Teen Edition Batch 1 housemates Karina and Aljon to admit that they are falling for each other despite Karina having a boyfriend waiting for her outside the PBB house. Watch their heartbreaking confession to Kuya below:

While it definitely just seems like pointless emotional entanglement with no way forward, #KarJon found something good in their blossoming relationship. Want to know what it is? Friendship, of course! Here, we listed more things that we learn from the situation that KarJon is currently in. And who knows, you might learn a thing or two from them! Read on to see.

1. There's nothing wrong with having a crush. Though you may think that you're a bad partner or a deceitful person, the truth is that you’re not evil, you’re just human. In fact, you’ve only succumbed to the same natural phenomenon that everyone encounters more than once in their life which is the sweet torture of having a crush.

2. Know your limitations. Let’s get one thing clear: Butterflies in your stomach when you’re in the presence of your crush are fine. But never cast a net over those butterflies, just let them flutter and flit internally. Butterflies, both real and metaphorical, have a short lifespan. Let them be while they last, but don't go beyond those harmless feels, or you'll get into some serious trouble!

3. Don't let it be a source of angst. Just like most situations in life, if you pay attention, you will find something good to take away from it—a lesson learned, an inspiration when you need it the most. So, you hold on to the goodness and what is right always.

With all these, we’d like to believe that what is meant to be will be. If you something isn't working out for you right now, perhaps another blessing is in store for you. What you need to do is handle your current situation with care and make the most out of it by learning instead of regretting. We wish Karina and Aljon the best!
