The Six Fix: John Mayer's Hugot Masterpieces That Never Fail To Break Our Hearts

The Six Fix: John Mayer's Hugot Masterpieces That Never Fail To Break Our Hearts

by Jhofer Eleria

While we're all waiting on the world to change, many of us are still wondering where in the world did John Mayer get all his mad guitar skills and why he has all the right words that perfectly describe how we all feel EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Unfortunately, we won’t be graced with his beautiful presence here in the Philippines when he visits Asia for his world tour next year.

And while we keep our fingers crossed that he will announce a tour date in Manila, here are six of his hugot masterpieces that we'd love to hear live.

1. Gravity

“Just keep me where the light is.”

This is one of John’s most popular songs. What many of us do not know is that, for John, this is the most important song that he has ever written. In one of his shows in 2005, he talked about how this song always serves as a great reminder to him to stay grounded despite being under the limelight.

2. "Dreaming With A Broken Heart"

"Do I have to fall asleep with roses in my, roses in my hand?"
Would you get them if I did?"

Seriously, how painful could these lyrics get? We all know that waking up is really the hardest part when you’re dreaming with a broken heart, and John accurately describes this experience perfectly in this song.

3. "Never On The Day You Leave"

"She'll fight for you like hell
Then force herself to like some other man”

Can you believe it, it only took John 20 minutes to write this song? YES, 20 MINUTES!! BUT he said in an interview with The Rolling Stone magazine that he couldn't perform this live because he thinks that he wouldn't make it through it. We wouldn’t want to see John hurt and cry on stage, right? It's alright, John! Just leave all the crying to us.

4. "Heartbreak Warfare"

"God only knows how much I'd love you if you let me.
But I can't break through at all.
It's a heart, heartbreak.”

Yup, even heartthrobs and award-winning artists get heartbroken too! In this song, John puts into words every thought and realization that we have in mind after someone decides to break our hearts. We still don’t get why did all those girls broke our dear John’s heart...

5. "Still Feel Like Your Man"

“I still keep your shampoo in my shower
In case you wanna wash your hair
And I know that you probably found yourself someone somewhere
But I do not really care
'Cause as long as it is there
I still feel like your man”

How can someone hurt such an amazing human being as John?? To us who have been hurt and are still trying to move on, it’s comforting enough to know that John is with us in these trying times.

6. "Slow Dancing In A Burning Room"

"Can't seem to hold you like I want to
So I can feel you in my arms
Nobody's gonna come and save you,
We pulled too many false alarms."

This is arguably one of John Mayer's best tracks. It showcases his out-of-this-world songwriting, singing, and guitar skills. We still can’t comprehend how he has turned such a painful thought into a beautiful masterpiece. He turned the romantic idea of slow dancing while being in a deteriorating situation that any heartbroken soul can relate to.

The 7-time Grammy Award-winning artist is set to perform in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong and Japan for his world tour in 2019. We are still shocked that the Philippines is not part of the lineup. But who’s to say that this is going to stop us, Mayer fans, from hoping that we can see him live in all his glory one day, right?
