In Focus: Why K-Pop Royalty Tiffany Young Is Fresher Than Ever

Stephanie Young Hwang, widely known as Tiffany Young, is a 29-year-old Korean-American artist who's presently making the western hemishpere fall in love with her kyeopta charm and world-class talent. Most of you might recognize her as the diamond of one of South Korea's most popular girl groups SNSD. But some might have recently discovered her from the massive welcome that she's been receiving on the other side of the world.

One proof  that Tiffany has become her own woman is how she's now in full control of her music and overall style instead of simply blending into a group. Although we loved her so much as an SNSD member, we're happy to see Tiffany go out of her comfort zone this time around.  Now that she's currently busy getting ready for her "Lips on Lips" mini showcase tour around North America, we're serving you more reasons as to why this girl has become the freshest that she has ever been!

1. She's baring her truest self through her new music.

During her SNSD days, Tiffany's sweet yet powerful vocals are one of the reasons why her group became popular. She previously had this cutesy image that's popular among girl groups, so we didn't get the chance to see her fierce side. That's why hearing her new tracks such as the empowering "Over My Skin" and the vengeful "Teach You" made us adore her in a new light. It's nice to see that this girl has two sides, one which represents her bubbly side, while the other bares her edgy persona. And for now, it looks like Tiffany is in the mood for chaos as she proves in her aesthetically pleasing music videos and husky voice that she's someone you wouldn't want to mess with, and we're totally digging it!

2. She's stepping out of her boundaries as she reintroduces herself globally.

From finding her identity to proving that she can capture the world on her own, Tiffany is the perfect example of an ever-evolving woman. What we love about her is that she took the courage to bring her music to new shores, and has started to make a name for herself in the global scene. But while she's already extremely popular, Tiffany did share in an interview with Billboard during the American Music Awards that releasing a solo song in America was definitely nerve-wracking, but that experience is something that she's truly going to treasure.

3. She's speaking her mind and making a stand on social issues.

We respect their culture and how they look after their country, but we all know that there are topics that are rarely talked about in South Korea. Besides global warming and tragic accidents, idols rarely say their opinion on certain social issues like politics, mental health, and the LGBTQ community. That's why it's nice to see that Tiffany admitted that one of the things that she's going to take responsbility from now on is talking about the things that haven't been talked about in Asia. She even wrote a love letter to the LGBTQ community during her interview with Billboard, and reading it made us feel her genuine admiration for them!
