The #PenshoppeFanCon with Korean stars and Penshoppe ambassadors Sandara Park and Nam Joo Hyuk last July 29, 2018 was not like any other fan meeting. From surprise performances to exciting games, the jam-packed Mall of Asia Arena was in for a total treat, and we witnessed it all!
Of course most of us went to see Joo Hyuk and Dara, but Penshoppe was also generous enough to give us performances from Keiko Necesario and their very own Club Penshoppe PH members Khalil Ramos, Maris Racal, Loisa Andalio, and Ronnie Alonte.
And as the much-awaited stars Dara and Joo Hyuk went up to the stage, the fans welcomed them with full hearts and loud cheers! Here, we listed the reasons as to why most people who attended the fan meeting stated that this is their most favorite one yet!
1. There was a surprise performance from IV of Spades!
Who doesn't love surprises especially if the surprise includes IV of Spades? That's why when we saw the staff setting up band equipment onstage, most of us immediately assumed it's for them, and we were not wrong! They performed their new single "In My Prison" and hit songs "Mundo" and "Hey Barbara." It's truly a mini concert that we were lucky enough to witness!
2. We got a chance to know more about Dara and Joo Hyuk!
The Q&A segment started off with the stars sharing the top three emojis that describe their personality, hidden talents their friends find weird, favorite superhero, and their dream job growing up which in Sandara's case she had already achieved—being a well-known artista. But being the sweetest guy ever, Joo Hyuk said that his dream was coming here in the Philippines and saying mahal ko kayo to his fans! The two had also mentioned that they want to have superpowers of being able to fly and teleport just to go back here anytime they want, and we were all for it!
3. The #NamLee and 2NE1 ship sailed!
Of course, we all want to know who motivates these two to continue being the successful artists that they are now. But even before Joo Hyuk got a chance to answer, fans started screaming Joo Hyuk's "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" onscreen partner and former girlfriend Lee Sung Kyung's name which in return made Joo Hyuk gush! This also happened when a scene from their drama was shown onscreen! Yes, Joo Hyuk, your fans want you and Sung Kyung to get back together!
We were also touched when Sandara mentioned that her former 2NE1 members CL, Bom, and Minzy have always been the ones who motivated her to do better. Awww, our BLACKJACK heart!
4. Lucky fans were able to act with them!
The fan meeting wouldn't be complete without games that fans can enjoy with their favorite Korean artists and one of our favorites yesterday is the Drama ala Joo Hyuk and Sandara. The fans reenacted famous scenes with them from their dramas. Joo Hyuk reenacted the scene with a fan where Joon Hyung and Bok Joo were fighting in Weighlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo while Dara reenacted the scene where Woo Ri and Hyun Woo spent the day together in We Broke Up. Sharing a sweet moment with these two swoon-worthy stars got everyone in the audience so jealous!
5. We got to see Joo Hyuk play basketball and Dara pose like a model!
We all know Nam Joo Hyuk is a great actor, but what he actually does when he has a free time is playing basketball with his friends. And in the game Basketball Shoot Out with Joo Hyuk, some fans were lucky enough to play his favorite sport and tried to win over him. Spoiler alert: Joo Hyuk still had the highest score!
And aside from being a singer-actress, Dara is also known for having supermodel skills as she graces various magazine covers in and out of Korea. Through the game Denim Lab Pose-off with Sandara, her fans had proven they're as talented in modeling as their idol—they even made Joo Hyuk their wall for a certain pose!
It's official: Sandara Park and Nam Joo Hyuk definitely have the best fans! As they have promised during yesterday's successful fan meeting, we're sure that Dara and Joo Hyuk will be back to our shores in no time! We love you, oppa and unnie!
