The Six Fix: Where To Get Your Burger Fix While Waiting For Shake Shack

By Chris Clemente

Recently, one of the best news we’ve heard all year has made the rounds of local feeds—Shake Shack is coming to Manila! The catch, you’ll have to wait until 2019. Wenk, wenk. Luckily, we have worthy contenders for you to visit while you’re waiting for the East Coast giant to come around.

Here are the best burger joints to make those calories count!

1. Raging Bull Burgers

Raging Bull Burgers is all about premium goodness. Just its location alone tells you that. The Raging Bull Burgers sits along the side of Shangri-La at the Fort and has some pretty awesome burgers, specifically this Mighty Beast.

Mighty Beast

Inside the Mighty Beast is 1/3 pound Angus beef patty, griddle maple bacon, aged cheddar, spicy beer mustard, lettuce, tomato, dill pickle. Make sure to open wide to get a bite of all the elements that make this burger oh-so-good.

2. Snack Shack

Yes, it even sounds like Shake Shack. If you’re looking for the most bang-for-the-buck burger without cheapening the experience, head over to Snack Shack and you won’t be disappointed.

Quarter pounder with chili con carne

They have a pretty straightforward menu with only 2 basic burgers (quarter pounder or half pounder) which you can dress with all kinds of cheap but good add-ons such as chili con carne, bacon, cheese sauce, bbq sauce, garlic sauce, and jalapeño.

3. La Creperie

Huh? Yeah, you saw that correctly. Even though it’s obviously a crepe place, this French café offers so much more—like a good burger.

Le Hamburger

Le Hamburger boasts a hefty serving of Angus and Brazilian beef patty with lettuce, onion, tomato, pickled cornichon, and potato wedges on the side. While it may offer additional fancy add-ons like caramelized onion, Gorgonzola cheese or mixed mushrooms, this one is actually quite tasty off the bat.

4. The BRGR Project

With its new location inside Malingap Central Food Hall with ample parking space and all, you won’t be having second thoughts about visiting this burger joint that lets you design your own burger.

Keto-friendly burger

For those who are trying to exert more effort into healthy eating, this place offers a vegetarian burger as well as a keto-friendly burger!

One of the good things about the burgers here is that they offer mini options for when you want to taste different variations.

They’re also not afraid to make your burger just a little fancier than the usual fare. They have the Amsterdam Burger that has pastrami, Gruyère cheese, and sauerkraut. And if it’s payday and you’re feeling a little more luxurious, they also have the Pound Foie Gras Burger.

6. Sweet Ecstasy

This one doesn’t need any introduction. A lot of people have pegged this as the local In ‘N Out, you know, the ‘rival’ burger of Shake Shack. Well, it’s only fitting that we bring this one into the mix, don’t you think? Their burgers are definitely top of mind when you think about the best burgers in town.

The steamed burger alone is worth the wait. It is the juiciest burger you’ll ever sink your teeth into–guaranteed!
