Super Junior A.K.A SuJu is one of the best-selling K-pop boy groups since 2005, and we can say they're every second generation K-pop fan's first love. They debuted under SM Entertainment with a total of thirteen members consisting of Leeteuk, Heechul, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, and former members Hangeng and Kibum. They made their mark in the industry as the group with members being chosen for their experiences as actors, MCs, models, and radio hosts prior debut, but it was when they released their single "Sorry, Sorry" that started their international recognition.
Due to their overwhelming success, it was no surprise that the group’s popularity reached the Philippines which in return formed a loyal group of Filipino ELFs (Ever Lasting Fans) that continually supported them for 12 years! That's why when PULP Live World announced that the group would come back here in Manila for their Super Show 7 concert on June 30 at Mall of Asia Arena, you can't imagine how excited the Filipino ELFs are! Dedicating this article to our ELF friends, we have listed the reasons why Super Junior would always be the most legendary K-pop boy group in our hearts.
1. They already have their own reputation as individuals.
Super Junior is no doubt a great group together, but they can also stand as individuals if they needed to. It's because some of them are good at hosting like Leeteuk, Heechul, and Shindong, while the rest are impressive ctors and businessmen. Honestly, Super Junior doesn't have to continue being a group just to be known and successful since they already achieved it. But after everything they always end up back together, and ELFs are thankful for that.
2. They're not afraid to change up their "pretty boy" image.
Super Junior is one of those boy groups who would make you kilig with their oozing visuals, but also the kind who would make you laugh with their funny jokes and pranks with each other. They post funny pictures on their social media accounts, make funny dances backstage, and act silly in their variety show guestings which are the reasons why they're loved by many!
3. They know how to turn the stage up.
Being a group for more than a decade, Super Junior already knows how to light the stage up without even trying. Their fans can attest that there's no Super Junior concert where they didn't want to stand up and just dance all night long. They give unique performances like covering girl groups or making their own impromptu gag show to entertain their fans. Every penny that you spend is worth it when it comes to them!
4. They bully and tease each other more than their haters do.
What better way to annoy the haters more than by acting like you don't care at all, and this is what Super Junior is good at! As a 12-year-old K-pop boy group, it's no surprise that they've experienced a lot of challenges throughout their career already including rumors that almost ruined them. Unlike other groups who always try their best to ignore the media and haters, Super Junior chose to get along with them by bringing a rumor up whenever a member is being interrogated. One of the most rumored member is Heechul who was described as gay by the media before, and instead of ignoring it, the members always tease him about it including the time when they were a guest in Knowing Bros!
5. They're friends with a lot of people in the K-pop industry.
One of the things that SuJu is known for is having members with the friendliest personality. Two of their long-time group friends are BIGBANG and DBSK who are successful groups just like them. The whole K-pop industry were witnesses of how these groups went against each other in music and award shows multiple times. But their friendship still remained intact despite the constant fan wars and agency battles. Besides BIGBANG and DBSK, Super Junior were also seen bonding with third generation groups like EXO, Red Velvet, and SHINee.
From the multiple awards that they've earned to the cities they've toured all over the world, some might have expected for this group to change. But they haven't. Instead they've become more lovable and humble towards their career. They're called the legendary boy group not because of the things they have achieved, but because of how they continuously present themselves as every rookie group's inspiration.
