“It’s all in your mind.” That’s one of the most common phrases that people with mental illness hear. Unfortunately, some still don’t get it—they think it’s “just for attention” and “happiness is simply a choice.” But is it really that easy to control our emotions?
To help break the stigma around mental health, the EPCALM Adult Leukemia Foundation of the Philippines in partnership with The Medical City is holding “Understanding Grief 5: Mental Health First Aid Toward Creating Communities of Recovery and Hope.” EPCALM advocates Boy Abunda, Kuh Ledesma, Heart Evangelista, and Jasmine Curtis-Smith lead the forum on May 31–June 1, 2018, ro run from 8 AM to 5 PM at the Augusto Barcelon Auditorium, 6/F Podium Building, The Medical City, Ortigas Avenue, Pasig City.
The two-day conference aims to increase one's awareness of mental health and encourge one in helping family and friends coping with grief. Interesting plenary presentations and discussions, as well as interactive activities and structured learning experiences await at the event.
