“Financial lackluster.” Artist Ritz Marie recalled how this became her main odd as she tried pushing for a career in the field. But her love for her craft was much stronger than that. “I chose to live my truth,” she said at the exhibit dubbed as Lucid Dreaming—a set of works she completed in the last 10 years, all made in a state where she felt she was “half dreaming and half awake.” It had proven to be one of the best decisions she has ever made, as she is now a published and four-time award-winning photographer who has worked with big names such as Pia Wurtzbach and Patrick Starrr.

Are you an aspiring artist? For Ritz Marie, these are some of the most important things you have to keep in mind!
Strengthen your heart. “A lot of rejections will come your way but don’t be discouraged,” she shared, stressing the importance of having grit and perseverance as it will also further forward one’s artistry.
Find inspiration in everything. The editorial photographer’s artistic style is vividly cinematic with raw inspiration. “I really like drawing inspiration from the rawness of things, the rawness of people, the rawness of life,” she revealed. “May it be trying times or good times, just find inspiration in it and let it speak for itself.”
Live life. “You can’t create inspiration and there’s no inspiration without life,” said Ritz Marie. That includes listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and going for whatever makes you happy.
