On a scale of 1-10, how much of a geek/nerd are you?
“I don’t know, kasi nung nag-aaral ako, I only read school books actually. I read for exams. I prepare—I just prepare for basically everything that’s going to happen (in) the school days… Yung scale from 1-10, siguro 8.”
What sparked your interest in the particular field you are in right now?
“Siguro I wanted to be forever young. I get to be forever with, you know, young people. And… siguro, eventually when I get old, I always feel young when I’m with them, ‘di ba? You always remember the times that you’re in school doing what they’re doing. Sa yung acting, I wanted to entertain people, kaya I also entered acting.”
Who’s your role model in your industry and why?
“In my industry? Kasi torn ako which industry: teaching industry or acting? When it comes to teaching, yung prof ko before. I don’t know pero there’s something with him na just motivates me. It makes the subject interesting. And the way he teaches, hindi siya nakaka-intimidate. 'Di ba may mga prof na na-i-intimidate ka? Sa kanya, hindi. Mas ma-e-enjoy mo yung class nya, it makes you want to go to his class.”
What subject did he teach?
“Marketing—Fundamentals of Marketing.”

What about your role model in the acting industry?
“Siguro si Robert Downey, Jr. I watched this short film about his life; dati pala syang nakulong. Tapos bumangon sya, and eventually nakabawi sya sa buhay nia. And then, look at him now ‘di ba, even though—he’s not old, he’s aging, pero yung career nya is still at its peak."
How do you use your smarts to your advantage career wise?
“In acting, I use my imagination—when you think of how one feels when he or she feels a specific thing. Kunwari merong scene about the past, iniisip mo kung ano yung mga nangyari sa kanila para makuha mo talaga yung character na dapat i-portray mo on camera.”
Name your favorite book and say why.
“I only remember my book in marketing—Fundamentals of Marketing. Siguro kasi yung prof ko noon is interesting. And the book was this [gestures with hands] thick kaya hindi ko talaga makakalimutan 'yon. Every time I read the book in school, I highlight them. So, yung ganon kakapal, talagang ‘di ko makakalimutan yon.”

Name your favorite movie and why?
“Siguro yung The Judge. I don’t know if I remember the title right. Si Robert Downey, Jr. It's a movie about a father and son relationship. It made me cry actually, the movie. Kasi I have this relationship with my father is not that good. Ayon, nung napanood ko 'yung movie, medyo nakaka-relate ako.”
Name your favorite band and why?
“Eraserheads. ‘Kahit na it was during my elementary days, pag narinig mo yung kanta nila iba pa rin.”
Do you have any favorite foreign band?
“Backstreet Boys. I grew up listening to them. Actually, I mean, they never fade din, ‘di ba?”

What’s your guilty pleasure?
“Eating chocolates. Junk food actually, Pringles.
In terms of catching a girl’s eye, do smart guys have advantage over sporty guys?
“Siguro not all. It depends din with the girl’s taste. Some girls greally like sporty guys, and some girls (are into) smart guys. Sa school, oo, when you’re inside the classroom kasi mapapansin ka nung girl kung nag-e-excel ka sa class. Meron nga ‘kong story nung accounting class namin before. Meron akong crush na gustong tumabi sa ‘kin; tatabi daw sya sa akin pag exam (laughs).”
