Jack of all trades, but certainly not a master of none! This realtor, financial advisor, and entrepreneur certainly has his plate full but he certainly knows how to take you out of this world. While he can’t help geek out about aliens and crystals, we couldn’t help but geek out on how cute DJ Perez is! This 27-year old is all about independence and is very firm on making a name for himself.
Driven and passionate? Check! He’s very much in touch with Mother Earth with his jewelry business Gaia Bones Healing Crystals. DJ also certainly knows how to mix business with pleasure while keeping his eyes on the goal—frequently traveling around Japan, Korea, and Australia as he is the regional manager of Ayala Land International, yet knowing how to have a good time evident on his #OOTD posts in his travels.

On a scale of 1-10, how much of a geek/nerd are you?
“I would say I’m a geek. I’m thrilled by weird things that normal people aren’t so into. I’m so into Greek Mythology, crystals, aliens, it’s more of like a guilty pleasure to me. I mean, reading and watching documentaries on those things. It may not be obvious, so maybe a 6-7.”
What sparked your interest in the particular field you are in right now?
“Well, honestly, I just came to a point that I felt as soon as I graduate, I didn’t want to depend on my parent’s money. I just really wanted to make them proud, and for me, sales is the fastest way for me to earn money and to be independent. As young as 27, I was able to buy my (own) properties in BGC.”
Who’s your role model in the industry and why?
“In the industry of real estate, I would say, Ana Tatlonghari and she started as an agent and then, right now, she’s the president of our company. She’s my role model, she’s very charismatic, friends with everyone in the company.”
How do you use your smarts to your advantage career-wise?
“I wouldn’t really label myself as smart-smart, like book smart, but I am street smart. In a way that I would know how to market myself well, because in my line of work, networking is really important.”
Your favorite book?
“Crazy Rich Asians trilogy. I finished everything, it was so addicting. (laughs) My eyes were just glued to it. As addicting as it is, I would actually wake up and excited to grab the book again to read it. I’ve read the first book twice, second book just once, and the third one was quite dragging. I’m just so excited for the movie.”
Your favorite movie?
“It would be Avatar. I told you I’m a geek, so after that I bought a plant. I might have named it Eywa or something.”

Your favorite band? Or artist?
“I’m a mainstream kind of guy. I’m currently hooked with all of the songs from The Greatest Showman songs are all awesome and then also this girl from Pitch Perfect, Hailee Steinfeld. It’s all downloaded in my iPhone. She really has a pretty face.”
What’s your guilty pleasure?
“Watching documentaries about aliens, ancient aliens, and stuff. There's this show saying we were colonized by aliens once.”
In terms of catching a girl’s eye, do you think smart guys have the advantage over sporty guys?
“I think sporty guys are more like just the flavor of the month but smart guys would be, it’s more of like, they’re more interesting. They’re the keepers.”
